Role and Responsibilities

The Tasting Room Associate promotes the sale of wine, wine clubs and non-wine products sold in the Tasting Room, while educating customers on American Wine Project, wines and varietals. This position is also responsible for building relationships with customers and takes the initiative to provide excellent customer service and exceptional hospitality. Essential duties include but are not limited to:
•  Greets customers and pours wines for tasting according to procedure
•  Provides customer service both in person and through phone conversation that exceeds expectations
•  Assists customers in wine selections and describes wines, winery history and provides general tourist information
•  Handles routine POS transactions using Tasting Room software which includes operating the cash register, processing returns, discounts, employee purchases, etc.
•  Meets established sales goals for wine and wine club memberships
•  Assists customers to their vehicles with large purchases when necessary
•  Washes and polishes glassware
•  Assists with set up and break down for events in the Tasting Room
•  Assists with cleaning and creating displays and arranging merchandise
•  Prepares gift packs for sale in the Tasting Room

Working Conditions

•  Working in a retail sales environment
•  Part-time, approximately 1 PM to 9 PM
•  Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and/or holidays

•  High school diploma or GED; some college preferred
•  Fluent in writing and spoken English
•  Possess Mathematical skills
•  Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency
•  Professional appearance and demeanor, must be able to work as part of a team
•  Outgoing personality with open and friendly communication
•  Minimum age of 21 years old
