American Wine Project is a boutique winery located in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. We specialize in low-intervention wines made with locally grown, cold-hardy varieties. Our wines have been recognized both within our region as well as by the national industry. We are hiring tasting room associates with an immediate start date. Our team is supportive, flexible, kind and honest. We are looking for new teammates that can help us achieve our goal of being the best small winery in the Midwest!

Role and Responsibilities

The Tasting Room Associate promotes the sale of wine, wine clubs and non-wine products sold in the Tasting Room, while educating customers on American Wine Project, wines and varietals. This position is also responsible for building relationships with customers and takes the initiative to provide excellent customer service and exceptional hospitality. We are adding kitchen service in Spring 2025 and plan to offer a curated wine bar menu.

Essential duties include but are not limited to:
•  Greets customers and pours wines for tasting according to procedure
•  Provides customer service both in person and through phone conversation that exceeds expectations
•  Assists customers in wine selections and describes wines, winery history and provides general tourist information
•  Handles routine POS transactions using Tasting Room software which includes operating the cash register, processing returns, discounts, employee purchases, etc.
•  Meets established sales goals for wine and wine club memberships
•  Assists customers to their vehicles with large purchases when necessary
•  Washes and polishes glassware
•  Assists with set up and break down for events in the Tasting Room
•  Assists with cleaning and creating displays and arranging merchandise
•  Prepares or assembles cheese plates and other menu items
