We are hiring Tasting Room Associates with an immediate start date. Our team is supportive, flexible, kind and honest. We are looking for new staff members that can help us achieve our goal of being the best small winery in the Midwest!

Role and Responsibilities

The Tasting Room Associate aids with the sale of non-wine products sold in the Tasting Room (merchandise, food, non-alcoholic drinks, specialty dining items), while educating customers on American Wine Project as a business. This position is responsible for building relationships with customers and takes the initiative to provide excellent customer service and exceptional hospitality.

Essential duties include but are not limited to:
•  Greets customers according to procedure
•  Provides customer service both in person and through phone conversation that exceeds expectations
•  Assists customers in food, merchandise, and snack selections and describes winery history and provides general tourist information
•  Handles routine POS transactions using Tasting Room software which includes operating the cash register, processing returns, discounts, employee purchases, etc.
•  Able to speak confidently about products offered in our Tasting Room, deferring to senior staff and management when needed
•  Assists customers to their vehicles with large purchases when necessary
•  Washes and polishes glassware
•  Aids with set up and break down for events in the Tasting Room, garden, patio, and grounds.
•  Assists with cleaning and neatening Tasting Room and Patio area
•  Prepares or assembles cheese plates, pizzas, and other menu items if needed
•  Meets established sales goals for wine and wine club memberships
•  Assists customers in wine selections and describes wines, winery history and provides general tourist information
